Law was more defined- law can only prohibit actions hat are hurtful to society and that it is the expression of the general will.

People were innocent until proven guilty and cannot be imprisoned or punished unless in the cases and through forms as presribed in the law.

Freedom of expression- no one would be disquieted for their opinions and their religious views. They were given the free communication of ideas. Speak, write and print in freedom

Property rights- was assured their rights over their property.
